FFS

No one ever claimed you couldn't get a loan for a plate, FFS.

FFS there are banks offering multi-million pound loans, but that doesn't say anyone can walk in and get one FFS.

FFS heres what I said at the outset:

Caledonian Cabbie wrote:
Perhaps if the thinker had thunk a bit more he would have thought that not all drivers can raise the money to buy a plate.

Some can't even finance a second hand motor, never mind a plate, which would probably need a substantial amount of security, like equity on a house.

I think Captain FFS is either just taking the pish or he doesn't even bother reading the posts before engaging his brain.

Sorry for all the FFSs, but I thought it seemed to be the most sensible part of his posts, so perhaps he would understand that bit :D

If thats the case then Caledonian Cabbie needs to wrie to the newspaper watchdog and complain about the story about Mr Cowie near Glasgow who Skull is apparently a little scared of, Jaspar isnt though, I think jaspar said he was a poof.

I've worked this nonsense out now, I thought someone had been meting out threats, but I think you're just bullshitting, as usual.

The person in question's name is actually Cowe, not Cowie - that's what confused me.

Which has what to do with the point I made?

If you want to conduct a private conversation then use the PM system.

You know you were talking nonsense and are just trying to deflect attention.

Yes, you said:

Which was clearly alluding to the point about drivers not being able to get finance for plates.

If you read the previous posts, you will see that many drivers including myself, HAVE OBTAINED LOANS FROM BANKS TO FINANCE A PLATE, the facts are that these drivers chose to rent for fear of delimitation, thereby losing the value, however when you have obtained one by their chosen route then delimitation does not matter

Perhaps you can answer the question I posed to someone else i.e. was the loan secured on the plate/vehicle or an asset like your house?

I'm not too sure that there are many drivers choosing to rent just in case the plates lose their values.

More likely they can't fund a plate, or are happy to rent full-stop.

I know several people in york who have obtained loans from the bank to buy a plate, including me, over the past 10 years 70 plates have been sold in York so where you get the idea that nobody wants to sell them is nonsense, the people who cannot obtain loans are classed as a bad risk which is being demonstrated here.

Why is it 'the thinker', that you can do nothing but state the obvious all the time ?
Some people can get finance/loans some cant, and Im assuming its certainly harder for alot of people regardless of their credit rating, to get finance for a lot of people during the current recession everyone is experiencing.
Yes ! Plates do get sold in York and people do buy them, but I wonder how many would have bought them had they been aware of the licensing rules and regulations ????
Four people in York have done their homework and chosen to do whats right and legal.
Perhaps they have personal reasons for taking this course of action that you know nothing about ?
Until you are aware of the details of each individual case and you are aware of all the facts concerning each individual concerned, I guess you can only continue stating the obvious on here.
Hey Alan, heres a novel idea ! Tell us all something we dont know !!

Im waiting !!!!!!

Why does he have to tell you anything other than his view?

I also took a loan out to buy my plate after renting a plate for 6 months i decided to buy i had no problem getting a loan when i explained what i was paying in rent, my loan payment were extremely less, these people have never wanted to buy a plate because they were scared of derec and were happy renting like the majority of drivers in york if your earning £1000 a wk and paying £150 to rent a plate like Mr Ellerby £850 minus fuel insurance and finance for the car and dont forget the £18.26 a wk to go in the station not bad for 6 nights.Did some1 say the permits were £1500 complete bull the permit price per driver is £900.Next we will be having a go at the plate owners who employ a day or night driver to work the opposite shift to them selfs who charge from £150 a wk to £240 these drivers have no outlay and again earn good money. Now to the prices the plates go for the highest was a few years a go it went for 60k with a new car and this was sold by our Councillor Mr Gillis. Anyway got to go Magnet cup day .

Im guessing of course, but am assuming that the above mentioned rentals are driving the plate owners vehicles and thats why they have nothing else to pay ?
And you dispute the £1500 for a station permit, but then state its £900 per driver ? So how much is a permit for two drivers ?

I cant see any reason why anyone would have a go at the plate owners that employ a day or night driver to work the opposite shift to them, cos they done everything by the book, and those plate owners probably own the vehicle themselves and are responsible for the repairs to those vehicles. Nowt wrong wiv that Mr Rhinogolf !!!
Hope you had a safe shift at the magnet cup and it proved to be a prosperous evening for you.

Well it's obvious , from what's been said.... that the driver and licence-holder have been giving false information to the council... colluded.... so the licence should be revoked. and neither of them should have it.... it should be reissued...

Which does somewhat sum things up.

A fraud has been committed, are 'fit and proper' people allowed to get away with that? :?
