They seem cheaper than Cab Card. Have you had any problems with them?

You can use either a mobile phone or a computer. So if you don't want to use your phone you can use one of the normal credit card slips and then input the info when you get home.

Do the customers think it's odd if you don't use a machine in the card?

Taxipay supply a miniature imprint machine for use with old fashioned slips. You put the transaction through your mobile phone and get a transaction number. Provided you have a sig and trans no, they guarantee you againts fraud, AIUI.

Ours don't when we use our PDA's (when they are in signal range).
