The battery light is glowing slightly on tickover.Once i drive or touch accelerator it goes out.Checked its charging battery which it is and checked all pipes and hoses cant see any splits. Any ideas ,is it the vaccum ?

Sounds like the charging voltage is a bit low on idle.
Check voltage at battery with engine running. Should be 14.4 volts if I remember right.

It might even be that the tick over is just a bit on the low side.

Alternators are wonderful

red light on - maybe charging, may not
red light off - maybe charging, may not

its cos the indication circuit can be "standalone" from the actual charging circuit

whereas a voltmeter and ammeter cant lie

a multimeter worth £6 will tell you the voltage

whipping a battery lead off while its running will tell you if thers output (if engine cuts out=none)

an ammeter needs to be properly installed but is nice to have

you cant beat having a full set of gauges, oil pressure, volts, amps, water temperature

One last thing, have you checked the tension of the drive belt?

When the Cab won't start, then you will know it hasn't been charging!
