the only reason it is this less is because all 45 drivers are partners in the company and the rent pays for the office bills an operators wage that's it, the company is not owned by 1 person all plate owners are partners in the company.

so its a true TOA?

45 x 30 = £1350 a week to pay base ops, office rent/rates/leccy/radios, should cover it

unless Aylesbury is unique you only get school contracts by winning a tender with the lowest bid...

Larger operators will take, for want of a better expression, whole schools.

Thus they would be able to offer work to new drivers.

yes that's how it works here say there is a contract 60 a day going to 1 firm but then another says 55 they will get it, I think me buying a hack is a good idea as most of the night work goes to the rank cars so my driver will make a good wage, there is good train statiion work as there is a rank outside before a train comes there are about 20 haks waiting after about 10mins they all get a job and go, once about 1am I dropped a job near the station so I thort I go an see if there is any one waiting a man sat in my car an asked to go banbury the haks charge 80 I got 60 of him, then every weekends I used to go an see

The considered opinion of an actual Aylesbury outfit...

Quote:
my personal advise would be not to risk your money as there are no guarantees in the taxi trade. De-limitation can occur at any time.
With regards to work in Aylesbury, the trade is flooded with drivers there is more supply than demand and it is a struggle.

With those type of antics we don't want him in the PH trade  Best he gets himself a HC plate if that's what he wants to do :D

Leis/Staffs/N.warks and Derby all do it 1 run/tender at a time...

These are runs, not wholesale...

come on we've all done it before I think every ph driver does it here but they make sure thee company don't find out but falcon taxis has a flag down button on there pda, if someone approachs them assuming there a taxi the driver presses the button an there number goed back last in que as they have piked up a fair, I asked the falcon owner if he is allowed to do than an he said its lagal as long as they press the button but then I was thinking if that was true there would be no point in hackneys an every ph firm would be doing it.

no mate, not all of us (PH) do it and unless your base has all the trip details BEFORE you pick up then its illegal

if its a copper or licensing officer it will cost you big time...
