With the civil unrest in Egypt & possibly other countries in that region to follow, US crude futures went up by more than 4% on Friday alone.

When the markets open in the morning that could go up even higher!!

What's the betting that £1.50 a litre could be seen at Easter if this carries on?

De-regulate cab fares?

If you look at Bryan's tables, there is quite a gulf appearing in the first page alone.

I aint too sure......I have read of councils competeing not to be top of their local league table......quite how that has anything to do with what the local trade wants is another very different matter.

Yet other areas seem to be running away with the mileage rate.

Yes.....but then, if the average fare is 2 miles......10 p per mile dont make much difference, hell 20 p per mile dont mean much.

In cities its about first mile and waiting time......in the stix its about mileage.

It's like comparing then needs of the trade in Brum......with Shap.

well, it goes up, you make less profit, your tax bill comes down, and in some cases, you have to hand over less VAT each quarter

you may not be paying any tax, in which case you WFTC will rise

and your housing benefit

pmsl...........................

From what i've read and personal experience tesco and sainsburys arent too bad fuel(i've never had problems in my diesel peugeot) but then again,i fill up with shell, esso and total regular too-in between the odd supermarket fill ups.Rarely go to asda but cant be too bad for the odd fill up(one in 5 or 6),wouldnt go there all the time though-no way! BP at wisley services A3 Guildford 134.p gone up 2p this week.Guy on tv news said higher prices would take 2 weeks to reach the pumps-"worlds gone mad!" to quote a football pundit
