Pete, please take heart from the unity here on TDO.

Such sad news that one cannot come up with words sufficient to convey my feelings. Others before me have put it far more eloquently.

I had the experience you described when my new born grandson was taken into intensive care two years ago last Friday. He pulled through and is now causing havoc in the lounge not six feet away from me. We were lucky but I think we had an inkling of your pain in those early days.

Stay strong. Support and love each other. Cherry's and my thoughts are with you all at this sad time.

I remember too well carrying my 1st born daughter into a childs wing over 32 years ago, she was not 6 months old, it had taken a doctor 3 weeks to diagnose whooping cough whilst we kept watch over her at night at home, every hour she stopped breathing, she was in there for 3 weeks but by the grace of God (if you believe) she was OK and now has 1 daughter of her own and 1 on the way

I hope your worst is over now (or sometime very soon), if God has a plan, he makes it very hard to understand sometimes.

Rory passed away peacfully at 4.15 this afternoon. May he rest in peace.
Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts at this tragic time for our family.
