A Plymouth business is hoping to douse the competition with its new 'limousine' - a fire engine.
Laura Webber and Keith Rawlings of Ernesettle-based company Hot Stuff Limousines have bought and converted a fire engine for people to hire for parties.
There is space for seven people in the vehicle, a fully-working fire engine that has a few modifications.
Laura said the inside was fairly basic compared with the average limo but the fire engine has a few luxurious additions such as a television and areas for champagne and drinks and, to add to the atmosphere, a set of disco lights.
"We are really pleased with it," she said.
"Keith got the idea after seeing someone do a similar thing in Blackpool and after we got the money together we went for it.
"It is still a working fire engine but we have re-done inside and there is space for a television and champagne.
"We wanted to put in what you would get in a limo but still keep it very much as a fire engine - a bit more rough and rugged and more for a fun party.
"It was just a matter of looking at other limos and what they offer and adding that in."
Laura said that with the increase in the number of limo companies in Plymouth she was hopeful the novelty factor of the fire engine would set them apart.
She added that it was the only fire engine available for hire south of Gloucester so many people in Plymouth would not have had the chance to travel in one.
"We have had plenty of interest in it already and we have only advertised this month," she said.
"January is already booked up and we have bookings as far ahead as July.
"I think the popularity comes from the novelty factor - there are so many limousine companies now they are not so special as they were because people get used to seeing them on the street.
"This is something new, and we are really hopeful it is going to be a success."
Although the business is based in Ernesettle the vehicle is kept at Lee Mill due to its size.
Customers who hire the engine for the night will get two 'fire crew' with it.
Keith is the driver and Laura looks after the customers, making sure the music doesn't stop and the drinks are flowing.
