Two women suffered serious head injuries in a late-night crash between a minibus and Ford Focus in Prestwich.
Firefighters had to cut free four passengers trapped inside the bus following the collision outside the KFC takeaway on Bury New Road in the early hours of Sunday.
The private hire vehicle, which carried nine passengers, was returning revellers from a night out. The car had five occupants.
Two of those involved in the crash, believed to be passengers in the car, received severe head injuries. They were taken to Salford Royal Hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Twelve other people suffered cuts, bruises, and whiplash injuries.
The crash took place at the junction with George Street in the Sedgley Park area at 2.10am. Fire crews from Broughton, Agecroft and Whitefield spent about an hour at the scene, during which time Bury New Road was closed.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Officers attended and found a minibus had been in collision with a Ford Focus. No injuries are believed to be life-threatening and police inquiries are ongoing."
