That is part of the point. Did the soldiers make a split second decision or were they given orders in advance?

But Bin Laden (no relation  ) would have been a martyr anyway. Indeed, imagine a war crimes tribunal or whatever and subsequent execution. Might have been a worse scenario then what's happened, which is perhaps why he was taken out as he was.

Personally I won't lose sleep over the due process aspect. It was a quasi-war scenario. Live by the sword....

And taking prisoners in such a scenario isn't easy either, and it's easy with hindsight to say he wasn't armed or was otherwise unable to wreak carnage if he hadn't been summarily despatched.

Different for the soldiers who actually undertook the mission and had to make split second decisions.

I don't think you are looking at the bigger picture. America and the West have always held themselves up to be Free Democratic Societies Governed by the rule of Law. Without due process, there is no Law, and no moral high ground on which to fight your battles. And if Justice is not seen to be done you abandon the very corner stone that western civilization is built upon.

Now while I believe the above to be somewhat remote from the truth. There are many who believe otherwise.

The Americans even went to the trouble of filming Bin Laden being taken out. Some might call this evidence, but now there is a question mark over what actually did happen.

So where is the Law?

Great, I can see the next gangland murderer saying to the judge, "It was quasi-war situation m'lud" and expecting to get off with it.

As for taking prisoners, they did, didn't they. They carted his corpse off doon the watter to bin it overboard. Anchor chains roond the ankles and aweigh.

Now, as we know there was this big compound. There were only two people in it. Binny boy, who was unarmed, and his feckless bodyguard whose CV was suspended by virtue of his sudden increase in weight from projectiles into his bod.

Likely story? Think binny boy would be living there wtih just one bodyguard?

So where is Mrs binny boy. And binny boys munchkins? And the PA, cook, the cleaners, the other body guards, his pals in crime?

They must have witnessed this? Or was the game being played called wipeout? Were they all taken down? And were ALL the bodies taken away for a bob on the high seas? Were they chu8cked overboard in an Amistad style re-enactment? A procession to the deep.

Is the truth here that the yanks perpetrated another My Lai massacre?

Why did the version change and why are the US so coy about what transpired?

And, why now particularly?

How does all this add up?

Will the New Koran in 100 years assert that binny boy miraculously rose from the deep, made himself known to Abu-Hanza, displayed the bullet wounds in his head and body, blessed AH and then ascended ethereally to heaven to sit at his father's right hand?

BTW Because this is a taxi forum, and to keep it relevant, I should add whether the chariot used to raise him up to his dad's will be stated as a converted, turbo-charged, WAV pug-gut E7?

Indeed, but the world isn't perfect and there are a million and one bigger injustices in the world than Osama bin Laden's right to due process.

I won't rejoice over the death, but I won't lose any sleep over it either.

Lest there's any doubt, I don't blame you.

There may be something in me that is glad that someone else did it.

But I xouldn't. And I don't rejoice it was done.

Well there's certainly a conspiracy of sorts going on, but it's got nothing to do with international terrorism :D

Keeps people guessing though
