Is that a straight grant with or without conditions?
How many granted?

if the sheriff granted it then its an unconditional grant

You make a good point Ali T.

Having a person who can talk a good talk is useful in court, and no-doubt the council paid someone a small fortune to do so, but in the end the law is the law, and as long as you get a judge (or whatever you call them up there) that is prepared to sort the wheat from the chaff, then even those not paying fortunes can, and do, win.

That said desperate to read the judgement.

Taxi drivers have been reported queuing up for a spot on the North Bridge. The word is, if you are going to jump you have to apply to the council for a licence. However, all is not lost as there will be no shortage of razor blades, rope or hose pipe. A council spokesperson was to report to have said “it's the bloody mess after they go through the glass roof and on to the tracks that cause the problem. Why can't they do it in the comfort of their own home? It's just typical of bloody taxi drivers, no consideration for anyone”.

The council has advised they are about to carry out a survey to see how many cabbies the North Bridge can hold but until then, you will have to buy a licence. If you apply now there is every likelihood your licence application will be turned down.

 :D

The word is, after all the licence applications are unsisted the cost to the council could be as much as 200K.

It just goes to show the courts are in with the local authorities. They waited until after the elections to give the decision. The Sheriff sat on it for months. Yes, it was the right decision but the courts are supposed to be beyond reproach. You can't tell me the timing was not political. The judge was obviously gotten at and favours were done. [-(

The corruption in the system would make you sick. Anyone who believes in Truth or Justice is a numpty of the highest order. What we have is the LAW.

Now all you have to do is get the price of a first licence reduced to the national average of £400
