so they want "frameworks" with tenders submitted by email or uploaded, mini-competitions and all that but are happy to step back to using snail mail (Royal Fail) for incoming invoices

Quote:
To all Leicestershire County Council Taxi & Bus contractors:

As you will be aware from the taxi and bus operator forums recently held (see the minutes previously circulated and links copied below) we will no longer accept emailed invoices after July i.e. August invoices and onwards will have to be submitted by paper - either posted or hand delivered.

You may submit invoices by email for this month (July), but please be aware of this change for next month.

Your co-operation is much appreciated.

Regards,

STG.

One of the reasons given for going back to snail mail was the number of complaints received about non receipt of invoices. Well that is realy strange because when I was complaining that they never received my invoices I was told that I was the only one complaining.

Im on our LA framework...sadly its so complicated that the LA here have no idea of how many cars or drivers they have for each of its four lots in its four different zones...the tenderers have been putting in the same vehicle to compete in several zones and have been putting in 8 seaters and six seaters in the 4 seater category to cover that to.

It didnt help the cause either that we were not given any guidance on how to price a run other than it was per passenger mile only....how the hell could anyone know what percentage of travelled miles would involve passenger miles and because of that the firms leading the framework rankings have probably put in prices which are unsustainable.

but the biggest bugbear is that its the 1st ranked that gets first shout on every single run...god knows what if anything will be left for us further down the list.

we can all see where this is heading

the "reverse ebay-style MINI-COMPETIONS (whhoopeedoo)" are really designed to hammer prices down, just like last minute snipe bids on the real Fleabay

we cant email invoices BUT I can email the framework tender back in, isnt there a hint there somewhere

also, school ended today, but i cant invoice till the 31st

on our framework we will only get tenders for areas we "tick", but not all runs START local, mine doesnt, it ENDS local (mornings), i think theyve tripped up big time by trying to be too clever

Some operators have also told me they filled in a similar questionnaire approximately twelve months ago and they are under the impression that this means they have completed the ITT Questionnaire. This is not the case. I apologise for the fact that we are asking you to complete two very similar questionnaires in a short space of time, but all operators MUST fill in the attached ITT Questionnaire if they wish to remain as one of the County Council approved operators.

theyve asked for badge/plate/insurance details, but no physical proof the details are right....

i live on the edge of my LA but nearer another, both are in the same county

on the tender, the "test" prices for cars in both LA's are in just the one LA...

work that one out
