Comet Commercial & 1278 ?. Was there names attatched to these Companies ?. The Directors,Partners, the person responsible for the day to day running of the Taxi etc. When the transfer of the plates happened, who's bank account was swollen ?. Everything watertight Ali ?.

But don't you, Skull and Jasbar keep on arguing that the companies are just fronts to enable the plate to be sold?

Thus if the companies are just fronts for you and/or your wife then the objection is substantially true in that respect?

And even if the details are wrong as regards who or what applied for whatever or sold it, or didn't as the case may be, how does the objection damage your reputation and thus amount to a defamation?

In effect for a defamation case to succeed you would have to prove that the fact of applying for and selling a plate damages someone's reputation and in addition the fact that you've already done so means that even if you could prove that it damaged your reputation then since you've done it already then it's not much of a defamation to incorrectly say that you've done it again.

In fact I suspect the abuse meted out to the objector on this thread is more defamatory then anything in his objection

Seems to me that it's a bit like someone claiming I've bought a new car when in fact I bought it a couple of years ago. Thus factually incorrect, but hardly defamatory.

Unless of course you think there's an element of wrongdoing involved, but then if you've done it already then it doesn't seem like much of defamation to incorrectly claim that you've done it again.

Would love to see it in court though :D

Pity that our government gurus don't have as much commercial nounce.

Careful - that's almost slang for a sex offender.

Which really would be defamatory

Make your mind up what action you are going to take. The thread states defamation and now you have changed this to Libel. :-k

In the early 70s, the famous "Bookie" John Banks, asked Brian Clough if he could name one of his horses after him. Clough said, "No", so Banks named the horse Blabbermouth !. Funnily enough Ali, the horse was a fecking donkey as well !.

of course your right to a degree dusty

however its not me thats been allegedly defamed is it.

and lets face it its hardly an objection of any real note is it ?

its probably not even malicious, from a jealous poorly informed retard,
oops that may be defamotory
of course he can always sue me if he feels agrieved,if i don't do it first.

as i said its not about winning in court its about making him pay to go to court,i would have thought that part was obvious.

i just don't get the point of his objection perhaps you do :?:

it doesnt seem right to me to object to an application and then state the reasons for objection that were in fact committed by another party or ltd company can you :?:
he might as well blame the applicant for the Arab spring ffs

maybe he is being malicious, come to think of it

he appears to think that the buying and selling of plates is against council policy, its not is it?

I'm sure there is enough proof of you having Ulterior Motive ALIT don't you agree :?:

You have admitted selling 1 licence and admitted playing the game to do so again, all within CEC rules though i give you that

I don't know the guy Raymond but an objection is an objection, i'm thinking his objection has rattled you hence you posting about it on here.

Good luck  it's your life  i could think of a hundred things i'd rather do than eh study the Law "saddo"

In Scotland, the law doesn't draw the same distinction between the spoken and written word.
Any action would be for defamation.
