Another London demo, Wednesday 9th of November, Trafalgar Square from 4pm onwards.

Protesting about TFL plans for designated Minicab 'waiting areas' , Ranks to anyone else unless you happen to be a TFL official on £160K per annum.

Surely they have to wait somewhere. :?

I know you would like them to disappear but 40/50,000 licensed London PH have got to sit somewhere between jobs. :?

I guess the London taxi drivers would like the London private hire to go and sit outside their office or on their drive at home

Indeed Mr edders.

If someone had enough money to buy that amount of land, the last thing they will do is put minicabs on them.

Indeed they do have to wait around, but not in a line outside a pub with a guy inside / hovering around on the pavement with a clipboard touting all and sundry.

And that's what the demo is about.

The private hire can wait outside their offices' as they have done for years. If these drivers like the idea of being about to sit on London Ranks and ply for hire throughout the city/west end and other areas they can do the knowledge just like i did.

If these private hire firms want to open offices in the center of town and have drivers working for them they should also provide parking areas for them. Just imagine if i decided to sell lets say TV's but deciding, b***ocks i cant be bothered to buy or rent space i'll just pitch up where i bloody well like and sell my goods. Would TFL then help by supplying free space for me to use...no they bloody well wouldn't. What make mini scabs any different???

I take your point on board albeit is a little extreme what do you think would happen if the companies had to provide a car park?
