A new Method of plate distribution when a demand is established is what he is looking at, it would be almost impossible for them to use the ipl due to the recent judgement meaning everyone will have a fair chance of obtaining a free plate, good news for the whole trade when the next demand is established on method he is looking at is by the way of a draw

Would we really need a change in legislation just to change the allocation system? If not then what changes of legislation is he talking about? I wonder :D

You know it's difficult to indulge in a debate which is utterly stupid. Your “controlled growth” theory is fundamentally flawed when it comes to peoples rights. In fact, the only way it can work is for local authorities to abandon the rights of the individual. Only councillors and taxi drivers could come up with such a system and think everything is just the way it should be. #-o

What rights would those be?

CC

Your inalienable rights of freedom and equality, the right not to be discriminated against and exploited. The capping of plates is simply a charter of abuse for those with vested interests to protect. :-| And who ever heard of having rights, that change depending on what part of the county you find yourself driving a taxi. Fuc*ing stupid! #-o You can pass “the knowledge” in London and put on a taxi on the road but not in Edinburgh. #-o

The Tale of 2 different cities Skull, one limits the other doesn't, what kind of world would we live in if we all lived in the same world!!!!

Away and live in a tent in St Andrews Square with your anti-capitalist's mates  Oh sorry you are not one of the PRIVLIGED KIDS who can afford to live in a tent protesting are you

So Dougie, you see yourself as a "capitalist" and not simply someone that's bought into the illusion of capitalism? Dougie, stick to wearing medallions.

I'm sure they were but that doesn't solve the problem of one's rights being breached as a consequence. :-|

Are you claiming a case specifically relating human rights (in the context of the debate) and taxi licensing has gone before the courts?

No not particularly a taxi related case.

But either way.....your case is so strong you've never actually brought one on those grounds?

If you think you'll win, fine......I dont I guess thats why you havent done it.

You've been banging on about it for months, why?
