Here they are, and that fleet is only going to get even better when nobody can afford even a £3k car isn't it when all those new drivers arrive, put it down son, you had your day, you know your motive isn't pure and something else hangs on you getting your own way.

So answer me this - why are Blackpool plates worth £30k at least yet the fleet is the laughing stock of the country?

Don't you guys ever read the posts - I said it as the laughing stock, not that it was the worst.

The public arent really that interested, they just want a cab when it suits them. They see the few hours late at night not the tuesday afternoon. On the other note this is a 'taxi' forum so im not going to lie ,i do this job to earn money, not for the love of the public .

I wasn't meaning the public being interested I was referring to 'in the public interest'. That is what the council do because the public don't appear to be able to take their own interest to heart the council do it for them

All the public is interested in is prices, lower the better in their eyes, so low they'd moan about a quid for a 3 mile ride, my area proves it, they ignore us because they know the 4 seater ride is cheaper on PH, but the kicker is they still ring for a 6 seater and the PH 6 seater is more expensive than us.

If there is any improvement to be had it's the council sets the rate for all, and all have a meter, and campaign to let the public know they pay no more than the meter and to ensure it's on, that way it comes down to service and convenience.

Again another reason why the council take care of the public interest because the public don't seem to want to

I wonder why they work so many hours here cos it ain't to pay rentals or to pay off plates :?

Because there are no punters and no other work.

But this trade doesn't owe anyone a living, so if it's bad then they should leave.

Where does the 100 grand come into it.Do you not think the ones who work the longest hours are doing it too earn a wage ?

Well they are doing it to earn a profit from what they do, and if they have got a £100,000 debt they need to work like buggery to ensure there's money left to eat.
