No did not know you where on a par with us, we have a few PH but there only used for school runs, with the exception of bloodknock

Not a bad idea though for PH door signage :D :D

Just to update apparently 20 taxis checked 17 out of 20 OK(including the 2 from my firm checked) 3 taken off the road so 15% 2 towns covered by checks so I don't know if the other 2 that came off the road were from Stamford or Deeping

perhaps PHTM should have league tables for numbers of cars taken off the road per district

why would VOSA have any specific interest in locally regulated/ruled HC or PH? isnt that the LO's job?

the P in PH stands for PRIVATE

does a private investigator go round with "SNOOP" in big letters on his back?

You might just as well ask why traffic police would be pulling over a cab driver doing 60 mph in a forty.

Clearly there's an overlap between the different regulatory/law enforcement bodies, but at the end of the day taxis and PH are as much subject to the general laws of the land (most obviously MoTs and various construction and use regulations in the context of VOSA) than drivers generally rather than merely the additional taxi/PH rules implemented by municipal government.
