Howards Solicitors, which works closely with the taxi trade, represented Ms Lamb, believes that taxi drivers must take away key lessons away from this case.

With friends like this who needs enemies?

I attach the Judgement you ask for. Please read and try to find the words "false imprisonment" I cant, Howards Solicitors only represented a young lady who was injured in a collision the driver could have avoided. The Court were hard on the driver, but what a pr*ck, he gets in all this trouble over three pounds.

What I will add to my very short question, is that times will be a changing within a year, and the reason for this is......

Elected Police Commissioner. :D

We haven't heard too much about this yet, other than moans from councillors (on the local police committees) who will be losing their allowances for basically doing f*** all, but this IMO will be a great aid to the likes of us when they are elected next year.

The last thing one of these commissioners will want is to pi** off the trade.

And a certain section of the judiciary, but we wont go into detail on that one. :D

Thank you for the judgement....I think you are right in your summing up.....but the red mist sometimes does descend, I think the driver will have felt intimidated when the male passenger was kicking the hell out of the partition.

When our local desk bod tried to fob me off with the "it's a civil matter" line, I asked to speak to the senior officer on duty. The desk bod told me I could see the Chief Constable but the answer would be the same. I asked him to make the appointment. Suddenly it was a criminal offence.
