If it works, why doesn't everyone do it?

Maybe I would get mor fares if I paid passengers to ride. 87 jobs a shift, it'd be like Christmas.

If you are Trading off a Rank, then Discounting is sheer stupidity, unless the Customer takes your Card and you are hoping to get his business, yourself, at some time in the near future.

It's rank stupidity. (pardon the pun)
All they are doing is cutting each other's throats.

One company in our town who until recently never used the meter are now (sometimes) using the meter and the drivers are supposed to radio in at the end of the job and tell the office what the fare metered. The office will then tell the driver how much less than the metered fare to charge the customer. No prizes for spotting the obvious. Other than that I don't know any drivers or companys that discount. In fact it is overcharging that is more prevelent.

The trouble is it's one step removed from open warfare down here too many drivers not enough work BUT many are told by their communities and companies they must keep working to drive out the locals so to make ends meet they take what they can grab at whatever price. And as for the independants well the choice is sit on the rank for up to 2 hours or do cheap jobs
