A mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the engine of a Harley Davidson motorcycle when he spotted a well-known heart surgeon in his shop... The mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hey, Doc, can I ask you a question?" The surgeon a bit surprised, walked over to the mechanic working on the motorcycle. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked, "So Doc, look at this engine. I open its heart, take the valves out, fix 'em, put 'em back in, and when I finish, it works just like new. So how come I get such a small salary and you get a really big salary, when you and I are doing basically the same work?" The surgeon paused, smiled and leaned over, and whispered to the mechanic... "Try doing it with the engine running."

But for tricky procedures surgeons can stop the heart and start it again. [-(

I've seen it on Holby City, so it must be true. [-(

I suppose he does have a point

mechanics salary X per annum

Train drivers salary 2 times

Heart surgeon 4 times

"captain of Industry" 1000 times

CAbbie half mechanics salary

Does that really reflect the levels of skill needed

Put it anyway you like - but the top cog will not work without the bottom cog.

But is the top cogs job really so complicated only a few know how ? I suspect that there are thousands out there just as capable perhaps people should be able to "bid" for those jobs at lower salaries

There are a few living around here trust me there is little effort just a case of knowing the right people most are "head hunted" once they've been on the board of one company they get offered positions on the board of lots of others

I can't argue with that kind of statement but I don't agree
