Okay peeps, this is not a delimitation thread.

Our local authority are in the process of getting all licensed vehicles some smart new taxi and private hire plates.

I even had a critical eye over the design, insisting that the City crest of our proud City should be featured.

Here's the clintcher, we were told this week that if you originally paid a plate deposit of £25 you could exchange your old plate for a new one.

However, if you paid less, you had to add the difference.

Plates 101 to 133 were originally issued by the City Council many years ago, they may even be pre-decimal when deposits were paid.

After delimitation in 1995 people paid £25 plate deposit upon first license.

I personally object.

Any thoughts

If they are the MOGO plates don't use the bracket supplied with them, just screw them to the bumper, we've had no end of trouble with the brackets so the Council let us screw them to the bumpers.

thanks nidge,

But I have a TX2 (because I am wealthy / stupid* delete as appropriate)

I was more concerned about how much money the local authority owe me in accrued interest

I think because the plates were bought as businesses, the first person who got them (when we had horse drawn vehicles) paid. It would follow that in terms of interest over 80 or 90 years, I am owed a bundle!

hehe
