Taxi Driver Online

After been summoned to my local taxi licensing office for a 5 point check at 0930 this morning,i was annoyed to find out that the officer doing the check was off sick.Now in my wisdom,i had decided not to work previous to the check as i envisaged picking a 0830 job up where the passenger had 3 shovelfuls of [edited by admin] on his boots,and as a clean cab is one of the specifications,i wouldnt risk it.
Now i know that if it was me that had broken the appointment down at the Reichstag,it would have been plate off and another test.Surely in a city with 300+ hackneys,and 700+private hires,there must be more than one gestapo officer available to do the check?Does anyone know if there is a minimum level of enforcement officers per number of plated vehicles which the council should employ,also do you think it would be worth chasing the council for the mornings loss of earnings?

I would get in contact with the Chair of the Licensing Committee, I suspect his details are on your council's website, and ask him the questions that you pose here.
