having read Mr Rolands opinion in thie current edition of PHTM he seems to have changed his stance somewhat only a few months ago he was iargueing that enhamced crb checks were an unneccessaty waste of time and money and now he is celebrating the great victory that cabbies and PH the across the nation will now be able to pay an extra £10 and have the enhanced check which according to Mr Rolands a year ago was unneccessry

Is the bloke taking lessons from that well known political comedy duo the Balls brothers !

I think right at the beginning of this CRB lark Mr Rowland was against enhanced checks on every driver, and his view was that standard enhanced checks did the job.

Clearly he has changed his mind, but from time to time we all do that.

I agree that all drivers should have the enhanced one at first application, but once completed they should not need another unless they leave the trade and come back some time later
Those councils that require one every year or every 3 are just waisting time and money, when a quick phone call to ask the police if there are any changes from the date of the first check would be suffice
