Are you considering Hackney carriage (black cab) or Private hire?
Imo best is hackney but down your area they most likely to have big plate values eg 30-50k so best will to be is rent a cab on a weekly basis everything will be covered in your rent but fuel is yours best shift is nights but nights more money more hassle, days ok money less hassle
If you work days in hackney best place where money will be is train station but that also depends on if your area station is busy or not
For rent info best place will be is asking drivers on ranks or phoning around firms.
