Suspension of licensing team staff

Two members of staff from the Council's Licensing Team have been suspended to allow an investigation to be conducted in accordance with the Council's procedures. Because this is an ongoing investigation, it would be inappropriate for us to provide any further details at this stage.

Radio Manchester ran the story of the two Trafford Licensing officers suspended. They did so after contacting Trafford Council's press office for confirmation of the facts.

Radio Manchester further contacted Salfords press office who replyed later that nothing had happened in their Licensing Unit. The Salford story is therefore unconfirmed.

Someone would need to make a complaint..............

This isnt good enough really, I mean we all go to work for a pittance......if something goes worng like a speeding ticket, we have to eat humble pie and apologise to licensing officers hoping they wont go to the trouble of putting us in front of a licensing committee.

They are paid in the region of £25K per year, and that is more than many of us gross before our costs are taken into account, lets forget about the pension fund and the paid holidays. And still these greedy b*stards take an alleged £300 bung???

And in the midst of these serious allegations Trafford MBC have the gall to make their enquiries internal???

Being British I think we look at the corruption and bribery in African countries and dismiss it as 'something that happens there'.......we are seriously blind to our own gang of thieves.
