Now do you see why Mark, you're helping open the flood gates up, and those open gates will wash you away mate, oh well there's always van driving isn't there.

Grateful for the concern, but a) I'm just fine thank you and will remain so, and b) your concern is best directed elsewhere.

I think you're wrong pointing fingers at the south coast.....you would be better off driving to Irelands second City

Yeah, but by the time I get the ferry over it won't be worth it, besides the clubs will be turned out by then as well, oh well back to the drawing board #-o

It might be the only place a few of them will be able to make any money

They already arrived here some years ago, that's what I've been trying to tell you all this time, and once they are in it's very hard to break their monopoly, they undercut you substantially on every job, some jobs even go at a break even point rather than a profit just to retain the job, then you have the overcharging which then drives custom away, too many cars leading to slaves driving, and finally they're sat all over the place intercepting you, have you ever heard of a curry war, well that happened here also resulting in bad curries for £2 a pop, brace yourself for the PH firm that decides it will do anywhere in town for £2.50 and try to compete with that, you're already £2 per fare more than I am.

Taking their own sweet time with actual consultation - I honestly thought it would be available so the press can report properly.

I suppose I am naive.

That's the press release - good for Driffield - but I want to see the actual consultation.

Are T&G (Unite) aware of it?

How can the law commission cite 1831 as a date for cab laws needing reformed.....then suggest London may be different????

And for those not aware....there were no provincial cab laws before 1847 :!:

a new “peak time” taxi licence that could only be used at particular times of
day as decided by the licensing authority.

Oh brilliant, guess what mug thought that one up 22 years ago when he was PH, then realised why the old heads used to laugh when I suggested it, all that will do is add to the confusion about who and what can pick you up, and now for the real corker, PH won't have to know where they are going anymore to get a badge, OMFG I think I need to find another job because this one is about to become one by the look of things.

Congrats, certain ppl within the trade and the commission are about to make the biggest ricket in history.
