True.

True or False

"True or false, Rome wasn't built in a day" this is your answer to the super rich and their political puppets running the country in their own interests.

Now if I answer, true, I expect you will be able to tell me how Rome was different to Scotland under a political system, owned and manipulated by the super rich or is this just further conformation that nothing will change.

Gusmac, you are lost in this Scottish Patriotism nonsense along with Stationtone.

Im sure it only exists in your mind skull.
But I'm listening. What's your plan for utopia?

No that's right Gusmac. No one is promising a utopia, but I can't see how someone speaking in a Scottish accent will change anything for the better - different day, same bull*hit. #-o

You really need to give yourself a shake on this one gusmac.

I accepted within the British Union im a One in Ten (UB40 wrote that song) years ago Skull, Within an independent Scotland i can become more significant, maybe a One in Four but hey im still in control of my surroundings, maybe you will never accept you are insignificant but those of us who don't care make best with what we have and just get on with being significant to whom it is important :D

Your right Skull i have always been lost in this "Scottish Patriotism nonsense" as you put it ,even in my youth when i was brainwashed into voting labour .A labour party that brought Dundee to its knees with 30 years of being in administration . I now support a party that has brought Dundee back from the brink and is running Scotland with one hand tied and is doing a grand job .So please forgive me if i feel a bit proud of my political party (SNP) and myself both supporting Independence and Nationalism . Still waiting to hear why you are so bothered, since you think it doesn't matter who runs the country.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
At best you should be apathetic. But you're actually worried. Now why is that? :?

And when are you going to reveal your masterplan to solve all the ills you point out?
Or are you just going to keep telling us how hopeless everything is?

In fact, if the population of Scotland all subscribed to your views, there'd be 6 million (sorry 5.2 million) all quing up to take a dive off the north bridge.

Aye “proud to be Scottish" it's almost like you chose to be born in Scotland to Scottish parents. Anyone else might think your patriotism was an accident of birth but not you Stationtone. You are one of Gods, chosen people, living in the best small country in the world.

I don't suppose it ever occurred to you, that you might be brainwashed by your social conditioning and have lost or never knew how to question your beliefs.

“Quick, let's get the Brave Heart movie on and watch how great Scotland really is. Oh and once we've done that we can wave our tartan flags and run around the streets in our kilts.”

You need your head looked at, how does anyone believe this shi*e?

Do you believe in anything Skull?

Yes. I believe in questioning everything without being forced to accept the norms, customs or ideologies of society because of everyone else. :-|

I'm not bothered Gusmac. I simply find it absurd, that people would vote for a system that represents the interests of their owners, old or new.

To be honest, I think it's pathetic how one can be taken in by this tartan waving bagpipe playing patriotic nonsense and believe that things will be different, when that's not how the system works.

Without real accountability, there is not a political system throughout the world that works in the interests of people like you or I, Gusmac.

The master plan is simply to see if people like you can wake-up, on mass, and change things for the better, instead of going down that same-old road.

Think of it this way.....easier to change a country of 6 million than a union of 60 million.

I don't need a shake Skull.

Its a Population of around 5.2 Million, but Gusmac has allowed for the extra 800,000 Migrants that Eck wants to entice here in order to keep his local Curry Palace well staffed.

I would guess that Eck's local curry house is already more than adequately staffed, since your union has been rolling out the welcome wagon to all and sundry for years. :?

If this comes as a shock to you, you really should get out more.

Yes the Union let a few in, But the Master Curry muncher himself is actively trying to encourage many many hundreds of thousands more to bung up this tiny country, your beloved Scottish bloodline is going to be diluted to the point of extinction, and it certainly wont be the English nor the Union that's going to be Scotland's biggest threat to a national identity, its going to be a million other Interlouper's from all around the globe, You should also get out more and look more closely at Scotland 2012, or at the very least have you eyes tested.

Like Elana Trump had a few pairs of shoes or Richard Branson has a few quid. Kid yerself on Britnat. your fooling nobody there, not even yourself.
BTW it's about nationality, not bloodline. Mine isn't as blue as yours.
As Tone pointed out, were all Scots. Even reluctant ones like you.

So the thread title is total bollox then?

Suggestion - shouldn't there be single Scottish politics thread for this kind of stuff, since this is a taxi forum supposedly, but most of the threads in this section are about politics.

Then those who visit the site to discuss taxi issues can more obviously know which threads not to bother reading.

It's not a reality you are incapable of seeing for yourself, if you choose to look for it.

You did agree that:

It's simply not in the interests of the super rich or their political puppets to represent your interests.

Now ask yourself:

Is there total transparency of government – NO?

Are politicians held directly accountable, by their electorate -NO?

So why should your elected officials represent your interest before their own or that of big business?

Without transparency and accountability it's only a veneer of democracy, which benefits the super rich and their puppets the political class.

This is what you are really voting for when your tick goes in the box for the SNP. :-|

Still no answers then skull? Just the usual superior attitude and yet more questions.
Perhaps we will have to wait for Chomsky to answer for you?

While we wait for Chomsky, perhaps you can tell us what would be different should we tick one of the other boxes?
Do they give you transparent government? NO
Are their politicians held directly accountable, by their electorate? NO
Do their elected officials represent our interest before their own or that of big business? NO

Why then do you single out the SNP and the independence movement for your venom when the UK and the unionist politicians are at least as bad?
Deeply held views? Maybe, but I don't think so [-X
If that were the only reason, you would despise both sides equally. Perhaps you do, but that's just not what's coming across here.

I'm reminded of the words of Winston Churchill on this one.
“It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government, except all the others that have been tried.”
