Gusmac, I am all for changing who runs the country, but not with more of the same... I want a system of proper representation, where politicians are held directly accountable for their actions. And to do that, we need transparency of Government, anything less, and you are guaranteed another David Cameron but with a Scots accent. As for being a Unionist, you've got to be kidding, not being blinded by Scots patriotism makes me a realist, not a unionist. This country doesn't need anymore dreamers. #-o

He's dead...why waste another few hundred million pounds of our money on trying to prove or disprove whats already been Proven in Court. I'm happy that he's guilty and justice has been seen to be done.

It's all rapidly becoming a trendy cause celebre to prove he's innocent...and if there's something all Politicians like to do It's to Jump on the trendy bandwagon..

Dr Jim Swire (father of Flora Swire: victim of Pan Am 103) has always believed Megrahi, to be innocent and so do a lot of other people. I, for one, would like to see what a public inquiry would uncover, the whole thing stinks, and for that reason, it's not guilt beyond a reasonable doubt in my book, and it's certainly not justice. :-|

I never thought he was guilty either tbh......I seem to recall some link to Syria being suggested before the first gulf war.....but when that arrived, we needed Syria silent.

Well........There's more here thinks he's guilty than think he's Innocent...And I'm fine by that, Enough moneys been wasted on the guy already and if we all took the View that Justice should be seen to be done at all costs then we'd be Bankrupt in no time with appeal after Appeal after appeal...and after enough appeals even Hitler and Pol Pot would be deemed to have been Innocent and their Families no matter how far removed would be inline for £billions of pounds worth of Compensation.

Nahhh...lets let some higher deity decide on whether he's guilty or not..

A man who wants honesty and transparency from politicians, has a cheek accusing anyone else of being a dreamer.

I'm not going to wait for an outbreak of decency to sweep through the halls of Westminster.
Hell freezing over comes to mind.

If I don't like my government post independence, I will be looking to change it.
IMO it will be easier to effect change in a nation of 5.2 million than a union of 60 million.

Now you tell me what in your mind makes Scot politicians more corrupt, inept, or less transparent than their counterparts elsewhere in the UK?

Nailing his ass to the wall was another trendy bandwagon, jumped on by many.

I can't believe you don't get this Gusmac, if the system, isn't transparent and the politicians remain unaccountable. It won't matter who you elect. The system, get it. You need to change the system.

Politicians are all corrupt and inept, and without transparency they are not compelled to do right by you, because there is no way to find them out. The system protects itself through the interests of those who benefit from it, the politicians.

You are voting for “the system” first and the politicians second hoping that once they are in power, there might be “an outbreak of decency."

Gusmac, you are the one being played, not the other way around.

So let me spell this out for you Gusmac, Y O U A R E A D R E A M E R, if you don't believe the above to be true. :-|
