We know all this, and we know why the system doesn't work and why it won't change under wee Eck and Independence.

So what's your point, or was that your point? :?

Perhaps we should just do away with the courts altogether? Not to mention all those expensive prisons.
We could just shoot them out of hand. Save ourselves a fortune

No, Use the Courts, then if they're found guilty for murder shoot them and save ourselves a fortune.

Take a look back, it's the subject of the thread.

You say nothing will change. There is no we, there is just you and your ostrich type reasons for preserving the union.
You could be wrong of course, but I doubt you would entertain the possibility.

I don't want to preserve the Union anymore than I want Independence. I want a system with the checks and balances, to make whatever government we do have, work in the interests of its people.

You Gusmac, are voting to preserve the system, their system. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> #-o

Well I don't see you doing anything other than opposing independence or attacking the SNP.
You are telling people to vote NO - that will preserve the union.

But you want that as a prerequisite to independence. You won't get it therefore you will preserve the union, like it or not.

You are already preserving their system. You just don't see it.
I want change, you want to wait and do nothing.
And nothing will be the end result. Turkeys don't like Christmas.

That's right Gusmac, Turkeys don't vote for Christmas, only SNP, supporters. Your answer seems to be, vote for the system and more of the same in the hope that something changes in the long term.

I can see how you've got Alec Salmond on the ropes with that little nugget. And I can't see why he won't deliver. That's a hard-fought negotiation for your commitment and your vote. Wee Eck must feel like his back is against a wall. #-o

No, mine is, vote for your politicians when they prove they are prepared to represent your interests.

In the meantime, educate the pubic to vote for the system they want, not the system they don't want.

I know its morally wrong, but if you vote snp and get them to ban roll your own cigarettes, you'd probably have your revolution within one week.

That's a fair comment actually, they do say, that most mothers with half a dozen kids to different fathers would probably top themselves, if they couldn't get their smokes. :-| Now I remember. Instant gratification, is what they like to call it. :-|
