Woooo
The thread is about the New E7 Auto, not about me having a new E7 Auto, firstly i asked for info on the New E7 Auto, then yes i bought a New E7 Auto, replacing my 9 year old Metro, now we are sharing my first impressions of the New E7 Auto, so get the message its not just about me having a new E7 Auto

101 miles yesterday, fuel cost £24 about a tenner cheaper than the Metro TTT, Saving around £300 per month, half the finance, really easy and comfortable to drive, no brainer

There must be 500 or so saloon drivers in Aberdeen right now looking at WAVs, so I'd say there is plenty of interest here as well.
If you're not interested, don't read it. 8)

Cheers Guy's =D>

Gusmac if its a Wav taxi the E7 wins hands down, easy glide one piece ramp is popular with users and the colour coded seat belt system added to the flexibility of the rear seats, making the exit and entry of wheelchairs really easy for the cabbie, coupled with the fuel economy its a no brainer, i have heard the manual E7 is cheaper on fuel than the Auto but not by much, a mate does warn that the only problem with the manual is the clutch goes regulary, maybe someone else could fill us in on that issue.

If interested defo go and have a look and have a test drive, if there is 500 interested omg, tell them i recommended you, at £100 a time that would be a nice earner

IMHO Clutch only goes regularly if it's abused by the driver. I've done 70k now in mine with no problems or hint of problems. I used to get 100k from the clutch on my old Metro so if I get the same with the E7 I'll be a happy bunny :D I've watched the way some drivers pull away and it's no wonder they destroy clutches :-|

Yearly around the £220 mark, got 1st years road tax with the motor so the registration fee is on the disc, 1st year £460.

The guy that told me double shifts his motor but your right E7Fan, i single shifted my Metro but that was an Auto but No Problems with Engine and Auto box, its how you drive and service your vehicle that counts.

You could though give us the long term 70k view of any probs we should look out for, im sure this would help Gusmac and the Aberdeen crew, so far im really impressed with the E7 :D

I didn't buy the cab new, it was an ex Edinburgh cab, 58 plate just over a year old with 68K on the clock. I've now had it just over 2years and done 70k on it. Only problem I've had was the EGR valve went at 100K, was prob the original. I've replaced 1 set of front and 1 set rear disc pads. I'm on 2nd set of tyres, still loads of tread left. Still on same wishbones, ball joints & track rod ends. Cab flew through inspection with no advisories every time, (we have 6 monthly inspections). Replaced 1 front wheel bearing a couple of weeks ago as I thought there was a rumble from n/s, turned out it was just tyre noise  Front anti roll bar was fitted with the upgrade kit that I posted about in an earlier thread and since then I've had no problems with that.
I replaced timing belt at 112K as I didn't believe Allied when they said they'd done it before I took delivery. Just gave me piece of mind to know that it was now done, did water pump at same time (recommended) Cab gets serviced every 10K, not the recommended 12K. Always thought 12K was too long for the same oil to be in there and it's an awfy wee oil filter. No probs with side steps or sliding doors, once again abuse and poor maintenance is the main cause of any.
As far as fuel consumption is concerned (it's a manual) never checked it exactly as I rarely neck the tank being single shifted but I get well over 30mpg, prob around the 35 mark on average I reckon.
And that's about it. Look after the cab and it'll look after you.
