So you are in the gang that says councils should decide what a driver owns, not the drivers?

An interesting but sad view.

I never mentioned anything about what a drivers owns :?

TBH I've an interesting one for you Mark,

To allow full de-regulation should also mean no tests or fit for reports, if as you say regulation is denying a man, then so is not giving anyone a badge who wants to be a cabby regardless of if he's a driver or owner, why not go all the way and scrap licensing altogether, after all they don't really do anything more than collect fees in some ppls opinion.

Simples is you only want to wreck the part of the trade that you want a feed from, thats the reality isn't it?

Most grateful for 'your interesting one'.

The fact that you can't distinguish between a restriction that no-one can meet, and a condition that everyone can meet, surprises me not one jot.

Nope I'm twisting it like you legal people do,

If it's unfair a man can't just get a plate on demand, is it not unfair also that a man can't get a badge on demand?

Or to simplify,

Your mission is to open a door wide open (a door that has been opened and failed I might add over the last ten years) cos were still waiting for this market forces thing to kick in, which obviously it won't all the time the trade is seen as the trash can of unemployables,

So working to your logic, anyone and everyone should be able to be a cabby, what right does a licensing system have to say they can't?

Now the point (which I doubt will sink in)

Restrictions are about maintaining quality, that is why it's also known as quality control's, to remove these makes it a free for all, now you don't really want that because it becomes like a desired item that is rendered useless the minute you aquire it,

And lets not mess about, your council uses restriction on both PH and HC, one is limited numbers and the other is only allow the top 1% a badge, no doubt if badges were exchangeable you would've flogged yours by now wouldn't you?

As usual the industry is reactive instead of being pro-active and now you pay the price that's your fault idiots, why havnt you got Cab drivers as councillors?

You will get no sympathy from me!

Evidently the council go on the old motto "never give a mug an even break!"
