Do you never get the comment it's a big car for one person !?

It is private hire.

Most of the bookings for wheelchair use are single person bookings. Sometimes they have people travel with them. We also use it for school runs and evening bookings. Because it is as big as a 16 seat minibus it is also used for airport transfers.

so you use it only for more specialised work NOT general taxi work which is what the argument is all about

We use it for any work that is required. We would use it on the streets if it were Hackney but it can only be used for pre booked work. If someone rings up for a vehicle and it is around at the time, it is used. Except this week because it is haveing the gearbox fixed.

We get that with the disabled people, they'd sooner get in a saloon because they reckon they are easier to get in and out of.
