For an £18 fare I'd have let the buggers go, Just not worth the risk in those circumstances...or better still Money up Front. and avoid the issue altogether.

Maybe he has done dozens of times in the past and this was the one time he snapped.

He's a Private Hire Driver who works cross border in Mansfield and Ashfield licensed with Bolsover District Council. He picked them up on Peafield Lane, I wouldn't pick anyone up on that road because they are walking home to Ollerton and Edwinstowe.

the thing is the sentences tend to go with the status of the victim and cabbies/ Ph TEND TO BE SEEN AS VERY LOW STATUS BY MAGISTRATES/JUDGES/POLICE

So no surprise at the sentence really

Yeah I do, he's a Bolsover licensed Driver working the Mansfield and Ashfield area, the job he got was a flag down on Peafield Lane in Mansfield, when you see people walking along that stretch of road you know they haven't got the money on them to get home.
