Dear Donald

We are supposed to live in an accountable democracy.

We have a raft of equality and Human Rights legislation affording us fundamental eights, including the right to work and not to suffer because of expressing political opinion.

I am a qualified taxi driver, having passed all the requirements of City of Edinburgh Council to drive a taxi within its licensing area.

Despite strenuous efforts on my behalf, I am now unemployed, and am unable to get a job doing what I am trained to do. This is primarily because of the political opinions I have expressed.

My alternative seems to become another burden on the State.

Yet, it is council policy to deny me access to the tools of my trade to make my living and keep my roof over my head.

Please explain how the council's policy is compatible with my fundamental rights afforded me by Equality and Human Rights legislation.

I require that the Regulatory Committee review the circumstances of my case and confirm their policy to deny me access to the tools of my trade which I require to prevent me becoming yet another burden on the State.

Thank you for your assistance with this matter.

I look forward to your reply.

Regards

Jim Taylor

You really don't know what a licensed taxi driver is do you? #-o

When you're typing with your forefinger Dougie, what's your other hand doing?

Dougie, won't even realise the mistake he's made by making that comment. #-o If you wanted proof of how low, the bar is set, for the topographical knowledge test, you only need Dougie. #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o

Yer not being denied anything really, if you want to use the full up card then what do you insist on if you can't get a gig ticket for your fav band? does this mean the group has to go for cloning so they can play 2 gigs at the same time, or do you insist the venue is rebuilt with a larger capacity at cost to the owners of it,

I think if you can't get a drive then it's probably down to how you've treated people before, reading what you say here I can't imagine any hack plate holder giving you a drive, and even if he did you'd then cry foul because he wants rent from you, or do you think the car, fuel, repairs, tax, insurance is all issued with the plate for £150 pa?

I thought you were a private hire driver now?

I thought you posted a few months ago about how good it was?

What went wrong, was PH serfdom worse than HC serfdom?

We're you an employed PH driver or self employed pseudo employee?

Gaz, you and Jas have got to up your game, the last couple of days have made the pair of you look like muted fools if I'm honest, you tried to rally on Reggie but ended up proving his point that you have no ideas just criticism of the current system, he asked plain as day for the alternative plan, but all he got was another put down reply that for a minute I thought my teen nephew had written on a gamer forum, just like the meds one you left me,

I've an idea, why don't you and Jas buy a WAV together and start your own firm, you can call it Skulper Car until you get another owner to work for you

Doom, it's no secret that you are off your head. And unfortunately, Dougie, is Edinburgh's answer to you. Now, I don't know how long you've been watching this forum but there is almost nothing that has not been said at least a hundred times before. The London model being a case in point.

Jim and I, predicted what was going to happen, from the economic recession, the fall in plate “values” to the expansion of Ph, down to the various court case the council lost in court.

The only thing that hasn't happened yet, is a de-restriction of the Hack fleet, not that it matters when Ph, is running amok taking all the work.

I dare say, your alcoholism coupled with your psychotropic medication has done nothing for your long-term memory, but that's hardly my fault. If you want to inform yourself, check back our posts for the last eight years, and you will see it's all been said before.

Here we go again, same put down, same branding, same same same, everyone who doesn't agree is mad or an alcoholic?

Let me highlight just how stupid you and Jim can be with your logic, above you write that PH is taking all the work because of restriction in the hacks, how on earth do you come up with it, PH is running amok because they don't use meters and charge slave fares to entice the punter away, in the mean time this means you get to ride in a car that should be in the scrap yard with a driver who hasn't a clue where anything is because he's renewable stock and the clever ones leave 3 weeks later so nobody really learns the job properly,

Anyone can slash the prices on anything and they will put everyone else out of business until the slash has no profit margin left in it, Whitherspoons is a prime example, all the pubs around can't compete, if they do they sell at a loss and there still isn't enough spenders to enable a profit, this is why the UK is in deep recession, when you pay the minimums the spend is minimal also so everyone ends up with nothing in the end, simple economics, and I know even you know that is correct isn't it,

btw, I took a drug test as condition of my license, I could've gone to a clinic for it but I chose the LO to do it, hardly the actions of someone with something to hide, so enough with the old unsuitable routine, I like a drink and go for a good one once a week, even my avatar is selected to play along with the game, but lets not take it too far eh

Hey I just had a great idea for you and Jim, and Dusty, why not go to the BBC and offer to appear in a tv sitcom about 3 cabbies living in a small country location, the title shall be, Last of the Summer Whineing

Doom, there is no shame in alcoholism or being addicted to psychotropic medication. Oh and any trace, is unlikely to appear in a test for illegal drugs. Chill the fu*k out, we've all got our problems, only some more than others. Think of it this way, some people need a little distraction from life, while others, relief from the pain of their existence. I would say, you, fall somewhere between. A man teetering on the edge one might say. Although, it's disturbing to think, you are working with members of the public. Never mind, I am sure your Local Authority has everything under control. #-o

See you've gone and done it again, you recognised yourself accidently coming down from your 8pm fix and imagined I was you and written all about yourself thinking you were looking at someone else, nevermind though when you remember where you left the spoon you can get back out of it again and talk to the fairies and tell them how you own the largest PH firm in the Western hemisphere and that if they ever need a drive to just pick up the phone. #-o

Doom, lay off the drugs and the alcohol and you, and I can have a chat when everything has settled down.

There's easier way to go about handling your problems.
