Hi all, Im contemplating starting my own private hire business. It'd be just myself driving. Can you peeps tell me the ins and outs, licences, council etc.

No Paul not everything, I still struggle with the 'Theory of Everything'. :wink:

If I were you Mr Youngy, I would contact your local council and arrange a chat with the licensing department.

There are national rules, but most councils interpret them differently.

You might well have a point there, I started my own PH business last November when my other business was getting quiet, I now run both businesses when they are busy which is at different times of the year. Getting a icecream van to keep you busy through the summer is good advice.
