Plying for hire in a public place is established case law, anything other than a hackney carriage such as a private hire vehicle has to be pre booked through a licensed operator. Any vehicle accompanied by a driver other than a hackney carriage, found exhibiting itself to the public with the intention it can be hired could be breaking the law. Any persons accompanying vehicles that have formed a taxi rank in public view for the purpose of hire are committing an offense.
See that's the difference we have been trying to get over to the London chap, the word
could.
It all depends on the circumstances at the time, and once again I say a PH chap parked up on the high street doesn't mean he is plying.
Your right i know F A about taxi licensing i only posted this story because .
1 I can not find the development on the councils planning explorer .
2 I never saw this advertised in the press.
3 The people they asked for comments never replied.
4 There were just a hand full of objectors, odd because i would there would loads.
5 I can't find any body who knows anything about it .
I was thinking, if i posted this story it might attract the attention, of some one who would investigate it .
I did not realized it would be used, as a vehicle for people to abuse each other.
it does no need to be advertised.. it is only a extension of licence..... which would be dealt with internally with in the hackney department......
