You're only right they're terrible...... shocking them wanting everything their own way. It could be that they only care about themselves because they are self employed so they only have to care about themselves or it could be they are that terrible breed known as 'a woman'

I take it your a driver then yeah?

I am a operator, see things in different perspectives such as

- customers perspective (focusing on customers, listening and giving)
- business/trade perspective (future of the taxi trade, adapting to the new market)
- financial perspective (financially benefiting the company and its employees/subcontractors (driverS))
- training perspective (identify weaknesses of employees and subcontractors (drivers) and help them improve)

Drivers see it as

- financially (benefiting them only - selfish)

and do not care about

- customers
- business/trade (future of their own work) they just work for now.. dont care about tomorrow, next week, next month, next year and so on..
- training (they believe they know what they doing, when they do not and think trainings a load of bollox)

A businessman with education behind him would understand all this...?

If you think of drivers like that why do you bother?

I'll just change this a little;

I have assessed and done research on 'some' private hire operators in the industry....

Private Hire Operators are like satanic mill owners.

- Have little regard for conditions attached to licenses by local authorities - they see conditions as arduous to their business
- Want a greater pool of drivers than vehicles - it makes firing easier if you have a lined up replacement.
- Set their fares to undercut taxis to gain custom - without thinking of what a driver can earn
- It is not in the interests of a PH Operator to give good remuneration - drivers do more hours when they need money
- Refer to private hire as taxis
- Are not particularly bothered what their drivers do when the radio is quiet, including possible illegal plying (turning a blind eye)

We are a company recognised and highly regulated by the buy with confidence scheme, so we have to follow strict guidelines in order to sign onto the scheme which is in partnership with the local council. I can understand where your coming from where many operators do this but we do not.

- Want a greater pool of drivers than vehicles - it makes firing easier if you have a lined up replacement.
I am a fair person, treat me right, I treat you better. Yes we need large amounts of drivers to keep customer service excellent but also we want them drivers to keep moving so I wouldnt want 50 drivers waiting when I only got work for 15 cars.
- Set their fares to undercut taxis to gain custom - without thinking of what a driver can earn
Our prices are the same as HC prices infact expensive in most cases, people pay our prices knowing we'll turn up and will not let them down.

- It is not in the interests of a PH Operator to give good remuneration - drivers do more hours when they need money
Which proves my point of saying Drivers are lazy and selfish.. do not think about customers, the company they work for or others
- Refer to private hire as taxis
YES I DO THIS!!
- Are not particularly bothered what their drivers do when the radio is quiet, including possible illegal plying (turning a blind eye)
We have strict guidelines in place our council policy is when a private hire is not doing anything, they have to wait somewhere they cannot be seen (discrete location) no where near a busy location so we wait in retail car parks or side roads. Is this allowed?

I have to carry on don't I or do you expect me to be unemployed and claim tax payers money?

I pay 15grand vat every quarter and heavy tax each year, I have the right to put my views across on drivers and other lazy [edited by admin] sitting home all day munching on pop corn whilst being sucked off by their cat.

You expect drivers to work 12 hours per day, 7 days per week so you can earn enough to have to pay the VAT of £15,000 per quarter but you don't see what is wrong with that equation :? The drivers work so they can earn a living and so you can earn a living. You however pay almost as much in one quarter than what your drivers will earn in one year. You don't employ them so if they are sick or would like a holiday they are without any money for the time they are not working, but, you will be. Don't you see what is wrong with all that. Do you offer a pension scheme, holiday pay, sick pay, minimum wage, maternity pay, paternity pay or any other benefit? I'm going to be as presumptuous as you and suggest that you don't pay any of these benefits that are the law if you employ people. Stop making out that drivers should be grateful for what you do when in reality you should be grateful that they do it.

wagas: That'll be Net then.

I would guess that gives your Company an Annual Turnover that exceeds £300,000.00 - Yes?

That's not a lot for 15 Cars, working 18 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Too be honest I've found ph barons to be really self centred, all they care about is themselves. They want to use "tricks and cheats" to make thier lives easier. They mainly employ sub standard staff and it's the drivers who carry the slack for them. Plus they seem to be ashamed to be called XYZ Cars, rather they want to be called XYZ Taxis..

That's about £900 per week per car per 24/7 shift which means each car is turning over £1,260 and the driver gets £360 presuming they are the only driver of the vehicle, for an 84 hour shift :? £4.29 per hour
