That in the main is where the heart of the problem lies.

Since the minicab trade entered into the licensing process, they expect it to come with instant respectability, the touts love it, they now have little yellow discs telling people they are 'licensed' cars, and the wrong 'uns amongst them take full advantage of this situation.

Now 'ollie' in all probability is no doubt one of the legit cars, and perhaps I've been a bit harsh slagging him off, but even he has to come clean about the amount of scroats that currently have 'temp' permits from the pco, that are driving women around and take children to and from school, having had no checks done on them. Worrying.

As for the minicab trade 'taking' over, well i've been listening to that story for a long time, 'welbeck motors' told that one in the sixties.

such arrogance from a trade who until recently the public couldnt be assured of the decency of people who were driving them around.

They are definitely getting too big for their boots.

Which is all the more surprising that the black cab circuits love working with them. Officially and un-officially. :-$

Hence the reason that GBC does not subscribe to any such company.

It always makes me smile sitting on Paddington surrounded by drivers paying £40 a week for the same privilage, a bit different i'm sure out in the counties.

I'm 40, not 60!

Reading through the story's of Alf Townsend, Phil Warren and others, it seems big plans were afoot by the minicab trade during that period, funnily enough sounding ever so like someone called Giffen of the nineties?

Im not really a person to rest on my laurels, yet invariably, the trade has seen these people come and go. It's the damage they do inbetwen which causes the problems.

lol I saw the "diabolical" remark on the telly

Of course they must be got rid of, but we want rid of them as much as you.

What many don't realise is that the fewer licensed drivers and vehicles, the more work I get. Its the firms not the drivers that want opt outs here and there, drivers, in the main, are more than happy.

Bus lanes entry would be nice, and I believe Stalin from the GMB is banging on about it. But I have no problems with good standards one little bit.

I think the black cabs main problem is the circuits trying to water down the KOL. They want more newbies, and they want them quick.

Hi greenbadgebigot 11237 its me again :D

Still hanging on by the skin of your teeth eh!

Seriously your constant references to people of ethnic minorities stinking of stale sweat reflects pretty much all thats wrong with your trade.

I think it only right that you should consider whether your truly suitable for carrying the general public within London with your racist views.

I trust that the moderator of this board will inform the Public Carriage Office of your racist comments - or at the very least bar you from participating on this board.

Just because this is the Internet do not think racist comments made here are beyond the reach of the law.

Just to remind you:-

Real bigots can be distinguished from mere partisans
or zealots by the fact that they refuse to learn alternatives
even when the march of time and/or technology is threatening
to obsolete the favoured tool. It is truly said "You can tell
a bigot, but you can't tell him much"

Well you have my plate number fat t***, give them a call, please tell everyone about the results.

Hello, pco?, yes its blobby here, i would like to report someone called GreenBadgeCabby who scribes on the TDO forum, i think he is a racist as he mentioned the minicab drivers in London are all smelling of stale sweat and tend to come fron other countries'

(line goes dead) eusasmiles.zip

Hello? Hello? I'm a private hire driver, listen too me . . . . .

Tell you what fat t***, i eat at the St Johns wood shelter nearly every day at 4pm - 5pm before I start work, drop in and chat with me face to face instead of making thinly veiled threats on a forum, i would look forward to it.

As for hanging on, well i've been hanging on for nearly 20 years now, and doing quite well from it.

And thats 20 years of listning to prats like yourself telling me how the minicab trade will take over, how sat-nav will take over the knowledge, how minicabs will have their own ranks,,,,, blah blah blah blah

Hey guess what blobby? I'm still waiting, as I will be in 15 years when I retire to Sweden.

You almost sound like the Welbeck motors spokesman of the sixties, where are they now, defunct.

Are you going to be a minicab driver 'till your 65, or will you be a taxi driver by then? or had a heart attack from eating too much?

I may have the occasional arguement/discussion with ollie, but at least he puts forward a reasonable arguement.

Buy a copy of Tony Christie's re-released album and listen to it all the way through, you may learn something.
