i dont want a free plate the last thing on my mind is becoming a hackney all i want is to be able to use my mercedes to pick people up wherever i like and advertise wherever i like you can stick your hackney plates because like everyone else who bought one in york it is wrong i think plates should be issued to those who want them one plate one person no renting no drivers i have had many chances to buy plates for not a lot of money and never taken up the offers if i thought plates in york were worth anywhere near the ridiculous prices they are asking for then i would buy one
2 Sides of the coin
Side one you should be able to offer a service to anyone
Side two if the price is discounted just to knock off the competition the drivers become slaves,
TBH there has never been any issue anyway, if a man from Sheffield wants hs favorite firm from Leeds to pick him up that is his right as a customer, but actively touting new custom in another area is a no no imo.
carefull in the use of the word "touting", what exactly do you mean?
A newspaper? website? cards?..........hanging about on street corners like a hack?

phone app?
