but sticking to the original point, where has "quality controls" "derestriction" call it what you will, actually worked? all it does is increase the fleet, and earnings go down, you only have to look at Watford, Northampton, Milton Keynes etc etc.

But this evidence will be ignored by the LC as the vested interests have no intention of listening....

Who got the free plate ? Or does he not want to divulge that?

And I will repeat worked for who?

If you say existing owners then more than likely not, but this trade has many more people in it than owners.

However I would say it works very well for drivers who can't afford your £100,000+ plate value, but would like to have their own vehicle, and work their own hours.

And I seldom see punters moaning that its too easy to get a taxi.

What did I say a few posts back about it being typical of your lot to not debate the issues, just the personalities?

I look forward to a time (when restrictions have gone) when the likes of you can debate the real issues that affect the taxi trade, but until then it appears we must keep reading the same old s*** from the same old s***.

But removing taxi restrictions will reduce many of the questions.
