in my manor if your a single shifter like you work yourself no driver and you work 12hrs x 6 after diesel, insurance, other your taking less than 300 pw,
there was a time few years ago work was great cabs were selling people were buying but now no one is buying cabs values are next to nothing now.
i really do hope work picks up soon.
its like this everywhere its killing us off.

the trick is to outlast the others when things get a bit rough and Aug to Nov are usually poor months thats when people start leaving the trade and come xmas new year less cabs/ph

But on a more serious note things are getting very competitive with PH in Peterborough charging prices now from 15 yeaRS AGO ! that is a sign of desperation I had a passenger having a right old moan to me because they went drinking in Peterborough and took a Hackney home £35 on the meter his beef was that a PH would have only charged him £15 for the same journey took a lot of convincing him that it wasn't the Hackney ripping him off it's the PH barons ripping their drivers off by making them do the Job for that price

Same hours and same money as last year.

But the night fellas are about 10-20% down on last year.

I had 4 passengers in my cab from your place today - they said the cab fares in Aberdeen were too expensive, I blamed you

When I started 11 years ago we used to say it was a bad night if we only took £10 on the meter midweek. Now, despite many fare increases £10 an hour is considered average, most nights it's less.

So my income is the same as 11 years ago but with the increases to fuel, repairs and insurance my net profit is less than when I started. eusasmiles.zip

The fare increases in the 11 years add up to about an extra 60p per mile, which had trade remained constant should have meant about an extra £15,000 a year now. So how on earth am I earning less than when I started :!: :?
