Call for Scottish teachers to have more holidays

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-19556730

As if 12 weeks holidays plus public holidays and a 6 hour working day wasn't enough for them...they want even more!!

That is just a simplistic view. Teachers may only work in the classroom for 6 hours a day but they also have to do the prep for the lessons and mark the homework. And if you think that the prep has to be only done once and you can repeat the same thing every year, you would be wrong. Don't forget the extra curricular activities that all staff are expected to do as well.
I for one would rather put up with the late night drunks rather than a class of 30 teenagers.

Most teachers I know estimate their working week at about 50 hours and their holidays at about 3 weeks but as Grandad says when it comes to teaching the teenagers especially in the schools that don't get to pick their intake rather them than me !!
