How would have any of us handled this situation?

You don't know until it happens to you, I got stabbed with a syringe about 7 years ago, when the adrenalin kicked in I mullerd the b@stard then just as some drivers were turning up to give me a hand his mate legged it. He got took to the Police Station by me and some other drivers and charged, as for his broken nose, fractured eye socket and lost teeth the copper said he fell down the steps in the Police station.

And they don't want CCTV in Southampton and Oxford?? They must be off their fuckin heads. They've got something to hide if they don't want CCTV after looking at that clip.

I think more than anything it is the "Big Brother" fear! The Asians probably because they think that the images will be used against them to do with " The State" keeping an eye on them!! and then there is our situation whereby innocent/adult banter could be used to misconstrue a basic fun/smile situation.

When I worked in Newport Gwent some years ago I was chatting to one Asian gentleman who I got on with very well. We used to rank right down the middle of the bus station, towering over that was aerials and tbh other stuff that was probably receiving dishes for local signals....................he was convinced that they were there to spy on the drivers

I think this comment in the article speaks volumes.

The assault was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the vehicle which was instrumental in the conviction of Pilgrim.

In other words he may have got off without CCTV being present, or faced a lesser charge.
