Thanks Andy, I don't know about the daleks though? Could exterminate a few touts I suppose? :)

All our company advertising is linked to the current themes going around at the moment & I thought the Daleks looked quite cute

The reason that the website referred to above was blocked was because Andy Peters was using it to spread defamatory comments about this site, and it would thus be ridiculous if we were to allow him to use this site to market his own site and thus the illegality, especially when this site is the 'victim'.

Andy has cleary recanted slightly and realised that he was ignorant enough to be led up the garden path by other equally ignorant people, but his site is still libelling this site by inuenndo, but clearly he doesn't like the facts to get in the way of a good bit of malice.

Of course, Andy Peters has always been a bit of a stranger to the truth - I well recall when he was using various aliases on here to belittle TDO insofar as it 'only' had x amount of posters, which is still his favourite line, but of course it's backfired on him a bit now given the distinct lack of activity on his own site.

Hence his attempt to market his own site on here.

Andy also accused us of being petty for blocking the address of his site, and it should be obvious that the reason for this is his illegality, as explained above.

But he should recall that when we started the site we carried links to all the other forums going, and that was even when we had zero posts, not nearly 25,000.

For example, we had a link to TTF2, then dutifully changed it to TTF3 (ie the revamped TTFUK), until the site was no more.

So it's not TDO that's petty Andy.

Here's another one - the lad from Liverpool posted on here recently that he was starting a new site, and asked people to contact him etc. Did we delete that? No.

So next thing we know, we get an email informing us about the new site and forum, including the immortal words "We do not support deregulation in any way - like some other forums we are aware of and invite you to discuss the subject".

So then the forum gets going, and what's on it now? The usual false claims about TDO by your fantasist friend Nigel Marchant.

A few days later, and what happens? Our Liverpool friend joins the TDO forum under the guise of his own forum - presumably it's suddenly become de rigeur to discuss 'deregulation' in Liverpool

Deleted? No, or at least not yet anyway. :D

Another good one was the Taxi Mart site, who asked us for a link, and said they would do likewise.

No problem. Next thing we know the 'UK's No 1 Taxi Forum' had been set up on that site (the number 1 presumably just being a bit of bull to get the thing started).

And the link to our site. Well, you'll have to look very hard to find us - we gave their site equal status with all our other external links, but poor old TDO is certainly bottom of the pile in this regard.

Deleted? No, or at least not yet anway. :D

But at least the admin on there challenged Mr Marchant when he went on there to spread his nonsense, and of course when he's challenged there's often a deafening silence.

I think there's too many people who just think that setting up the site is the hard bit, and then they can just send out a few emails and within days they'll have dozens of members and a hundred posts a day, but it's not that easy, but of course they can always come on here and try to poach members.

Not as easy as you thought, is it lads?

Well TDO.. as you know I promote your site on the 20 20 20 website and encourage people to join this one, if only to give it more of a balance, but no need to thank me on that point.

And don't think that other matters have been dropped, far from it, I am reading some interesting documents at this moment in time

And dear oh dear, you are claiming to be the "victim" Best laugh so far this week.

but of course it's backfired on him a bit now given the distinct lack of activity on his own site.

TDO.. my site has only been going a couple of weeks and specialises in vehicles only and not really for day to day rambling and moaning. I am quite happy for it to slowly build up. I do not expect it to to suddenly be crammed full of posts. But thank you for taking a look at it, and you are welcome to join and post to tell the trade about how good or bad your vehicle is. By the way.. what are you driving nowadays?

I know that you do not like monopolies but you seem a tad resentful that I have my own forum now, and others are doing the same  Although I have to admit that I have very little time to make day to day posting on them and really cannot keep up with protracted postings as per what happens on this site.

Hence his attempt to market his own site on here.

Tut tut...I wasn't marketing my own site on here. Sussex took the time to mention it and misquoted my posting on there (I think he has a thing about me  ) about the new Metro TTT which I corrected ( and made him look a bit silly in the process.. BTW thanks to all of you who have emailed me support over this) and Greenbadgecabby asked for the address which I typed in and low and behold, when posted it changed to something else, so I had to type it in differently

TDO... What others do on their sites is totally irrelevant to the matter in hand as they have nothing to do with me, so don't be so touchy.
[
i]but of course they can always come on here and try to poach members.[/i]

I think "YOUR members have minds of their own, you dont own them. Is it a prerequisite that members on here cannot post elsewhere?

Afraid of the competition TDO, lets face it there are not that many posters on any site compared to how many people are within the trade so you will find the same people popping up all over the place. However SUssex seems to prefer to stick to this one  Perhaps he feels safer here

However, on a serious note for one moment. I certainly do not want to see this site close. Despite any difference in opinions I still regard it as a good source of information first.. and a bit of entertainment second.

But, there are new sites around and the "competition" will do this site good.

I hope it's more convincing than the last 'evidence' you read Andy, even you managed to work it out in the end. #-o

And if you think I'm JD then you're Nigel Marchant

Well we will see  The rest of my post you distinctly side stepped

Although you are correct that my original reply refered to JD but then I edited it to refer to TDO. I had a long day today and my eyes are popping out right now

Well if that was promotion Andy then your buddies in Mansfield and Gateshead are Mensa members :D

Truth hurts, innit?

Yes, and I want my £10 million win on the lottery to wait until the day before I die

As for your latter question, it's still a taxi

Yes, we certainly relish a bit of competition, but the problem with TDO's competition is they seem to be killing each other and leaving this forum largely intact.

So you could have PMed GBC, but instead you just had to post it for everyone to see?

Seems like marketing to me.

BTW, tip for future reference - the word block doesn't work on the PMs, but presumably you knew that since you run a similar forum, but why stand in the way of a bit of marketing :D

Here we go...protracted disassembled postings. I had a solicitor once who worked for me seemed to really enjoy what you do. Draw out something for as long as possible until I started questioning it.. got a discount in the end when I told her to cut to the chase.... anyway

TDO Said:
I'm touched.

I have worked nights for twenty two years ... day and night for the first 10

TDO Said:
Yes, and I claimed that they were your responsibility, didn't I

I have absolutely nothing to do with the Admin of any other forum apart from my own. I did offer to set the techy but up for Nigel (and why not, as those who actually know me will tell you that I give a lot of time to others that need help) who is now as capable as anyone else in setting up such a forum. This took about two hours and that was the end of any involvement.

In fact I have had two further enquiries from other sources to set up forums that have nothing to do with the cab trade and I am very pleased to offer this help because it really doesn’t take that much time.

TDO said

That may be your view but it I wasn't PM'd I was asked in public and I thought that if anyone else was reading that part of the forum they would not have been able to follow it or understand it without the "evidence" for them to judge for themselves, i.e. a link to my forum. I just think you are getting touchy about the competition

However, I have requested links to my site on a few others and offered reciprocal links on my forum and my company web site. I have a link to this site on mine though as you know

These have been accepted and it works fine. At no time did I ask you to promote my site on here (thanks for sussex doing that  ). I only mentioned it because Sussex mentioned it first misquoting a posting that I had made there (thanks once again sussex  ) which you seem to forget.

The only time that I found out that you had gone to the effort to have the forum name changed automatically into something else when it is typed in and posted was in that one single posting I made, and never before. Hardly marketing was it?

TDO Said:
BTW, tip for future reference - the word block doesn't work on the PMs, but presumably you knew that since you run a similar forum, but why stand in the way of a bit of marketing

Don’t understand that one

TDO Said:
By they way, good luck with the site Andy.

But is there any chance you could take Yorkie with you

Thank you very much, I am not expecting miracles though, but it took only a couple of hours to set up and it willl look after itself. Its only to post about vehicles we use.. I will leave the politics up to the other forums

If it does take off then perhaps it will give you lot at TDO more time to look after and you can concentrate on the politics and bitching ( no sussex.. no reference to you intended)

Yorkie is very welcome, as you and anyone else is. I look forward to seeing you there

I wont post the site link here in case you regard it as marketing
but thanks for your time in your own promotion of it with your posting refering to it

BTW. I ahve found this site to be very slow at times even though I am on 1mb DSL. If you need any help on this then just let me know
