Would either of these organistations could be considered racist - National Black Police Association or the National White Police association?
How about Greek Orthodox Church or Jewish Lads & Girls Brigade?
Quote:
Hackney cab drivers in Pendle, Lancashire, say they will no longer be allowed to wear the shalwar kameez, a tunic with loose-fitting trousers.
The borough council wants a strict dress code to smarten up the drivers. Tracksuits, shorts, football and rugby tops, beachwear, short skirts, short dresses and flip flops would all be banned, as well as dirty or ripped clothing, and items with "offensive" or "suggestive" words or graphics.
The majority of Pendle's taxi drivers are Asian men, and many feel the rules would discriminate against them
Whatever happened to "when in Rome"?
If I chose to live in another country, I would expect to learn the language and fit in with local customs and traditions even if they were different to what I was used to at home. If you don't someone will have a pop, rightly or wrongly. How would a British female get on in Islamabad wearing shorts, T shirt and flip flops because it was warm?
Just to clarify though, I am not racist in any way. Everyone is equal regardless of religious beliefs or ethnicity and by all means share the wonderful diverse cultures that are brought into the UK but don't expect us to fit in with you, you need to fit in with us. I also think the organisations TT mentioned stink. Also Tico is bang on.
