Yes, the list is informative and good information, you need congratulated for taking the time, effort and dedication required to compile it, and in keeping it constantly under scrutiny.

Indeed, someone phoned me yesterday from the south west (Bristol i think) asking about a list, so I referred them to it.

One wonders if you know your own mind? These comments are so far removed from what you wrote in Taxitalk that it is no wonder why you asked to remain anonymous.

A timely reminder that "Words once spoken can never be recalled"

In that case why did you write the "open letter" to licensing officers in regulated areas, in Taxtitalk?

It was possibly wrote for the same reasons as a document was circulated stating the contrary.

Is fair fair?

I've been allowed to talk for a while.

I think JD, and for that matter anyone else, is fully entitled to send anything that appears on Taxi Driver Online to who ever they wish.

Of course that doesn't apply to anyone that wishes to keep quotas.

But it would be nice if people could please get there facts right if they are going to kick up a stink over something on this site. If something is factually wrong, then I'm quite sure we all want to know.

I also think those that accuse JD of trawling info under false pretences are 100% wrong. His list, is his list. Everything has been checked and doubled checked by JD, and him alone.

The fact that it is spot on and up to date, is why it has p***ed so many people off.

For what it's worth, I can't see how anyone in principle can object to anyone sending anything to LAs, and anyone responding in a magazine article (say).

However, compared to the document circulated to LAs, I think the tone of the TT article was more than a tad inflammatory, for example phrases like 'with this level of ignorance', which did not seem to concur with the tone of the document being criticised, not to mention numerous other criticisms which I don't really think held much water.

I suspect the author of the critique was playing devil's advocate a bit, but even so it's perhaps understandable that the document's author would feel a bit miffed.
