MetroCab - an environmentally-friendly hybrid taxi with tons of charm
Mangrove Capital Partners, Genii Capital, the British engineering firm Frazer-Nash and ACL are proud to present a world première: MetroCab. This new generation electric taxi combines state-of-the-art hybrid technology with the elegance of traditional London Black Cabs. This vehicle is an innovative and environmentally-friendly solution to urban mobility needs.

Luxembourg, September 4, 2012

New European regulations require that, from 2020 onwards, new vehicle CO2 emissions do not exceed 95g/km. MetroCab‘s emissions during a day of trips around the city speak for themselves: less than 50g/km of CO2 emissions, while still meeting the demanding standards required of London taxis, in particular regarding their turning circle. Passengers can also expect a high level of comfort. This vehicle can easily accommodate seven people as well as bulky luggage. MetroCab will have its world premie?re on 4 September 2012 in Luxembourg. Could this be the face of our urban mobility future?

Mangrove Capital Partners has already invested in several technology projects which meet the challenge of urban mobility while also reducing CO2 emissions. The company provided financial support for the MetroCab project designed by Frazer-Nash Research Limited based on their unique hybrid technology - the result of 20 years‘ research.

Genii Capital is very active in the automotive and mobility fields, and since 2010 has worked with Frazer-Nash on positioning and commercially developing this technology. With an eye to future urban mobility demands, Genii Capital attaches great importance to new technologies which help reduce emissions and energy consumption. Moreover, the company is working on applications for these hybrid and electric technology advances in other fields. Automobile Club Luxembourg supports the MetroCab initiative and sees real potential in it as it offers part of the solution to urban mobility issues. The project fits perfectly with ACL‘s latest ‚green taxi‘ initiatives.
MetroCab: setting the benchmark for the future?

So there you have it Londons next purpose built taxi launched in LUXEMBOURG,
