The financial sector used to be the big spenders in London at Christmas time, but due to their recent publicity the days of the big bashes with taxis laid on seem to be gone.

I picked up a few who told me their companies would not be paying for transport home, so if they were from outside London it was last trains home, or pay the fares themselves.

since when was PM in a morning?...

You would think that Skippy being ex-pongo, he would use the 24 hour clock, like any other sane taxi driver.

If a punter asked me to pick them up at 12pm, I wouldn't know if that was 1200, or 2359.

And when is 5pm in the morning? Get yourself a time machine Skippy. (in the shop ask for a clock)

Grandad I have my own base my car, all calls come to me, and I can easily do 5 runs an hour, sometime more depending on where the punter is, on mad Friday everyone stops work at 12PM here, so its hectic all day and night, after 6.30 PM there are no local buses so it get even more hectic, with a mixture of calls flag downs and immediate pick ups from the rank,
I even posted how many runs on FB this morning while waiting a few mins for my last run, ask Nidge
So a run to Langlee takes 5 mins and a punter phone from there I just tell them to be outside or they will have to wait half an hour so they are waiting for me :D

You sure did mate.

I had one of my best nights of the year Saturday night, I think I broke my record.

Friday night was manic, idiots all over the place, traffic was a mare when the traffic died off it was full speed ahead you could get round. Friday was also a good day and night.

Exactly the same here - I tend to think that whatever is happening in your/my manor........then it is mirrored around the country.

The last 3 weeks have been great here. It seems that folks have just had enough of being told that we are in a reccesion and they have decided that they are going to have a good christmas what ever. I think January will be back to normal though.

Black friday good, didnt stop 4pm - 4am the next morning. Would love to work in Skippy's town though, as 12 hours with no break and just about managed to take just under half of his claimed takings!

The following saturday was average, didnt bother with xmas eve or xmas day, went out yesterday and had a decent enough day as we were on double time.
