You've just gotta to love customers. We had 2 complainants tonight from customers.

The first complaining that the driver failed to put his meter on, even though he hasn't got one. We tried to explain to the customer that the driver wasn't legally bound to have a meter in his vehicle, but, they insisted that they know the law and wanted to know who to complain to. We gave them the licence dept phone number and again explained that ph didn't have to have a meter. Then we thought perhaps they'd been overcharged but apparently not they were just pointing out the error of his ways and said they would contact licencing.

The 2nd complainant was about me because I had taken the shortest route on 3 drops and apparently knackered the poor lads chances with the young lady I dropped off first

Even if they had been overcharged in a PH, it has nothing to do with the driver.

The buck starts and stops with the operator.

How can a PH overcharge? but id say the fare charged IS down to the driver (always, PH or HC)

Meters can be manipulated by useage

A PH can charge what they like, and any overcharge makes the operator legally liable, not the driver.
