Surely the council are daft though if they think the public cant tell the difference between a private hire and a taxi

The word taxi on it and a begging light is surely enough of a give away even if they'd insisted on a ph scuds being emblazoned with private hire only Pre booked fares only or similar would be a reasonable compromise

When private hire drivers cannot tell the difference between private hire and taxis what chance do the public have especially if the vehicle is 'emblazoned' with signage.
