Whats that got to do with the bloody Skoda Surperb?

Well the Superb is a Skoda, and another Skoda (the Octvia) dominates the Dundee taxi trade.

Some ned (now dead) escaped from an open prison (ie holiday camp) near Dundee, and then staged armed raids on several businesses in the city, including at least one taxi driver.

But I don't think the story said whether the taxi was a Skoda or not, and statistically it's very unlikely that it was a Superb, since there are very few of those in Dundee, so the link with the original subject matter of the thread is perhaps a bit tenous, but then again a lot of the threads are like that.

By the way, what's the Skoda Suburb anyway - is that a new model for jobs on the edge of town? :)

there is only a handfull of superbs in dundee and all i know prviously had an octavia, apart from more driver leg space i havent heard much more to make the superb the better choice, the press didnt mention much about the taxis which were targeted by the knife attacker there was allegedlly three, but the fact nobody surrendered their money bag is interesting maybe it was too full to let go,in a city which has recently been opened and with most ops shouting they are making no money surely it would have made more sense to hand this individual the bag containing the morsels of half a sunday shift rather than fight him off, then again maybe he didnt reckon on the hardy dundee taxi drivers, many who have waited over ten years to get their own cab, who would have been pretty [edited by admin] off being robbed only six months into their plate, apart from my wife ive never had anybody threaten to take my money bag but it must be a nightmare and i wish all involved the best, this sort of thing is very rare in dundee and virtually all get caught thanks to our sometimes wonderfull police force, this individual paid the full price by taking his own life but there are too many ending up in courts and getting small sentances for which is a very serious crime we still need to stick together to protect each another unfotunatly it only takes one mistake from a controller to put us at risk....
